HIMALAYAN YOGA TREK NEPAL 2019
WHAT IS IT?
The Himalayan Yoga Trek is an adventure of a lifetime that combines the two pursuits of trekking and yoga.
Together, we explore pristine rural Nepal on foot, witnessing the majesty of the iconic Himalaya Mountains, staying in rustic home stays with local families, learning about regional customs and trying delicious Nepali food, bathing in hot springs, and practicing yoga and meditation daily in stunning surroundings.
The result is an experience never to forget. You’ll leave with a clearer calmer mind, a stronger healthier body, life enriching memories, and an uplifted heart and soul.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Anyone with an interest in travel, yoga, adventure, and nature who is looking for a trip with a difference.
We will be trekking in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It is suitable for complete beginners to hiking/trekking and requires no specialist mountaineering knowledge or equipment. The trek is suitable for most fitness levels, but a good level of mobility is required. If there is any doubt please get in touch and we can advise you.
We will be walking for between 4-6 hours every day through an ever-changing landscape of rhododendron forests, glacial lakes, mountain paths, through villages, alongside rivers.
We will be accompanied and supported on our journey by an experienced team of Nepali guides and porters.
We will practice yoga (including meditation and pranayama) twice daily. The morning sessions will energise us and prepare us for the day’s walking ahead, and the evening sessions will soothe tired muscles and provide deep rest and relaxation. We will explore yogic themes that will help to enrich our experience and connect us to the landscape around us.
The yoga classes are also suitable for all levels of experience. Jasmine is an experienced teacher who is fully certified and insured and aims to make yoga accessible, enjoyable, and useful to all participants.
All food and accommodation on trekking days is included in the cost (and in addition, so is the accommodation in Pokhara the night before we set off). Accommodation on the trek is basic (generally an extension to local people’s homes) but comfortable enough. You will need to bring your own warm sleeping bag (or hire a down one in Pokhara or Kathmandu).
Food along the trails is off a standard trekking menu with a variety of options. We always advise people to eat the local food as it is always the tastiest! Fresh fruit and nuts are also provided to snack on.
